Mothers whose sons fell in Lebanon and who are
members in the Four Mothers organization, which opposed the continued IDF
presence in southern Lebanon, arrived yesterday at a press conference hosted in
Metula by Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz in light of the IDF withdrawal.
Manuella
Dviri, whose son Yoni was killed at the Karkum outpost two years ago, met with
Mofaz and Golani soldiers. Talking to the general, she said, "I would like
to thank you on behalf of the mothers of these soldiers and myself, even though
my son is not coming back."
Orna Shimoni,
whose son Eyal was killed at Reihan three years ago, said, "I hold dear to
my heart the commanders who knew how to pull the troops out, as well as those
families whose sons cannot shout today: 'Mom, I am home.'.
