Dear
Ladies,
Majid K’zamel
Three
years and several months have passed since the establishment of the movement
and we have reached the final stage. It was a privilege to see the smiles on the
faces of our soldiers as they left once and for all the hell that was Lebanon.
When
we joined the ranks of the movement, some of us had no sons in the Lebanon
whereas the sons of others were there and did not return. I am certain that the
fallen soldiers are now smiling in Heaven and are proud of their parents
throughout the movement. Our members have very stubbornly stood in rain and
shine to conquer this foolish war and bring the boys back to the bosom of their
parents. For my wife and myself, it is a great consolation to see soldiers
returning home alive and not in a coffin.
Dear
Ladies:
When
the catastrophe of the helicopter crash struck us, many relatives and visitors
surrounded us and expressed their condolences. When the visitors went on their
several ways, it was you who stayed close to us. It was from you that we drew
our strength. With your help, we were able to get back onto our feet again. The
support and the warmth that you so freely extended helped us a lot to swallow
our pain, to grit our teeth and go out into the street to save others.
Much
time has passed since the withdrawal. All those who tried to frighten the
residents of the north were proven wrong. Our way has proven to be right and we
have won a peaceful victory.
My
dear wife Shaharban:
When
we first started out on our journey as a movement, you said something to me
that has become engraved deep in my heart. You said, “The fear of the future is
the first step to victory.” I say to you now, “Be steadfast. Our son did not
return with the soldiers but we have saved others. They are all our sons. Life
goes on and we are obliged to continue our journey for the sake of the others.
This has been decreed by our fate. We shall continue with heads held high, with
tears in our eyes and palpitations in our hearts.”
Dear
Ladies:
I am
proud of you and full of admiration. This is the first time in the annals of
the State that a group of unarmed women has won a victory over generals who
have always aspired to do battle. To Bruria, Zahara, Rachel, Ronit, Miri, Orna
and all the others in the movement I say, “You shall remain in our hearts. We
shall always remember you and shall seek your help whenever our pain overcomes
our emotions.”
